Joplin firefighters help rescue dog near Wildcat Glades
Joplin firefighters are being praised for their efforts to help rescue a dog Thursday.
JFD assisted the city’s Animal Control in rescuing the dog that apparently fell off the top of the cliffs at Wildcat Glades commonly known as “Mother Nature’s Crack”.
Firefighters say the dog appeared to have been there for three or four days and was injured and dehydrated.
Personnel were able to boat across Shoal Creek and remove the dog from the crevice he landed in.
The dog has a great prognosis and is receiving treatment for its injuries.
