Eric Burlison Says MO Congressman Billy Long Has Offered To Mentor Him On Congress
State Senator Eric Burlison from southwest Missouri’s Springfield has won the Republican primary for the U-S House Seventh District race. Burlison hopes to learn from the man who currently holds the seat in Congress:
Burlison says incumbent Congressman Billy Long called Tuesday night to congratulate him on his primary victory over seven other contenders:
“He’s offered to sit down with me and mentor me and provide guidance and as much information as I’m willing to take…he’s been very gracious.”
Burlison will now face Democratic nominee Kristen Radaker-Scheafer and Libertarian Kevin Craig in November.
Instead of seeking re-election, Long made a long-shot bid for the U-S Senate, finishing fourth behind the winner, Eric Schmitt, and runners-up Vicky Hartzler and Eric Greitens.
Long has since endorsed Schmitt.
