18-year-old charged with burglarizing gas station multiple times

An 18-year-old is being charged with burglarizing a gas station multiple times over the past few days. Read the full press release below:

During the early morning hours of July 27th, the Joplin Police Department received a report of a burglary at Zips Convenience Store, located at 1902 E. 32nd Street.

A store employee arrived for work and found a window to the business had been shattered. It was found the suspect had broke the window, entered the store and stole a variety of store merchandise before fleeing the scene.

On July 31st, the Joplin Police Department was made aware of another burglary at this same location where the suspect entered the store during the early morning hours and stole vape and THC products before fleeing the store. On the evening of July 31st, the suspect returned to the store and again forced entry into the business and stole additional store merchandise.

After obtaining surveillance video images of the suspect, officers were able to locate the suspect at Leonard Park at 4th and Ozark.

The suspect, Aaron L. Moore, age 18, is listed as homeless.

Officers were able to gain information to confirm Moore committed all three burglaries and stolen property from the store was recovered. Moore was arrested and charges were submitted to the Newton County Prosecuting Attorney for Burglary, Property Damage, and Stealing.
