Car strikes moped, injures driver, flees the scene

An accident in Lawrence County has resulted in injuries to the operator of a moped.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Rebecca Reavis of Stotts City was riding her moped on County Road 2130 about a mile west of Mt. Vernon just after 8 p.m. Monday night.

That’s when an unknown vehicle struck Reavis on a curve, then fled the scene.

There is no description of the vehicle or the driver.

Reavis was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries.
