Man from Bolivar drowns in Pomme de Terre Lake

There was a drowning on Pomme de Terre Lake in Polk county on Friday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 62-year-old Steven R. Cutbirth of Bolivar drowned in the Point 12 main channel of the lake around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Cutbirth was observed struggling in the lake. He was recovered but by that time was unconscious.

He was pronounced dead by the Polk County Corner.

The Patrol says it was was the 7th drowning in southwest Missouri so far this year.
