MO Senate special committee to study state’s public education system
A group of state Senators will soon begin studying Missouri’s public education accreditation system and make recommendations to the state Legislature.
State Senator Karla Eslinger says Missouri should have an accreditation system that is “an accurate reflection of our school systems.”
She is chairing the Missouri Senate Interim Committee on Education to study the system and make recommendations about transparency, accountability and efficiency.
Eslinger’s office says the first meeting will only include testimony from K-12 public education commissioner Margie Vandeven and possibly other education department leaders.
Monday’s hearing is at 10 a.m. at the Missouri Capitol in Jefferson City.
