Trump won’t support Hartzler in US Senate race

The race for Missouri’s Republican U.S. Senate primary heats up as we near the August 2 ballot.

Former President Donald Trump has yet to officially endorse a candidate but has said he will NOT be endorsing Vicky Hartzler in the race.

In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump lambasted the Congresswoman by saying he doesn’t think she has what it takes to “take on the Radical Left Democrats”.

“I was very nice to Vicky on the call, but will NOT BE ENDORSING HER FOR THE SENATE,” declared Trump.

This comes as early polling shows Hartzler, former Governor Eric Greitens, and Attorney General Eric Schmitt all extremely close for the top spot but still over 1/4 of voters remain undecided.

Nearly half say Trump’s endorsement makes them more likely to support a specific candidate.

Some Republican leaders worry that Greitens might prevail in the primary and then lose in November because of the scandals that pushed him from office in 2018.

Hartzler did garner Missouri U.S. Senator Josh Hawley’s endorsement earlier this year saying on Twitter that she “has the integrity, the heart, and the toughness” to represent Missouri, but it appears she will not be getting a blessing from the former President.
