Republican Ice Cream Social to feature two dozen candidates
There are lots of of Republican party candidates running for state and county offices in Missouri.
At least 24 of them will be gathering in a few days to meet voters and express their views.
The free, family-friendly Republican Ice Cream Social will take place at 6 p.m. this Tuesday at Carthage’s Memorial Hall at 407 S. Garrison Avenue.
Jana Smith of the Republican Women of Jasper County says information-sharing is a major goal.
“We have 24 candidates from statewide to our local countywide candidates,” Smith says.
“This is going to be a good opportunity for people to hear from their candidates and vet their candidates before they vote on August 2nd in the primary,” she adds.
“It’s really important that when we go into the voting booth that we make good, informed decisions on who we want to represent our party in the general elections.”
Smith says there will be free Hershey’s ice cream, along with a silent auction and a raffle.
