Accident causes serious injuries to motorcycle rider from Reeds Spring

A motorcycle rider was seriously injured around 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning in a crash on U.S. 50 about three miles east of Neosho in Newton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred when an eastbound Dodge Ram Truck driven by 30-year-old Kyle J. Hufferd of Neosho attempted to make a left turn.

The Patrol says the truck turned into the path of a westbound Harley Davidson operated by 66-year old William C. Stimson of Reeds Spring.

Stimson, who was wearing a helmet, was seriously injured. He was transported to a Joplin hospital for treatment.

Hufferd was not injured.
