Joplin Fire Marshal investigating duplex fire in Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. –  Firefighters and emergency responders were dispatched to a Joplin Housing Authority Complex at 409 S. Ozark just before midnight on Friday night.

Upon arriving, they found a fire that had already burned through the roof of the structure near Leonard Park.

A resident on one side of the duplex who was confined to a wheelchair was rescued.

No one was in the other side of the duplex.

The Joplin Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
