Joplin’s historic Carnegie Library fire
This morning at around 5:30 AM there were reports of a fire at Joplin’s historic Carnegie library. The building located on 9th St. and Wall Ave. hasn’t been used as a library since the the late 1970’s but has been partially maintained since.
The Joplin fire department, Joplin police department, and EMS were on the scene to combat the fire. There is no word yet on the cause of the fire but the Joplin fire department appeared to have the fire under control. Electric companies were also on sight to offer assistance.
