St. Louis, Mo., June 27, 2022 – A group of St. Louis area timeshare exit businesses that have been the focus of previous Better Business Bureau consumer warnings is under scrutiny by the state of Missouri.
Earlier this month, Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt charged the owners and operators of Square One Development Group, Inc., Consumer Law Protection, LLC, Consumer Rights Council, Resort Transfer Group, LLC, Premier Reservations Group, LLC, Square One Group, LLC, and Timeshare Help Source with violating the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act.
In its filing, entered June 9 in Jefferson County Circuit Court, the Attorney General’s Office said it had received reports from nearly 200 consumers who reported more than $2 million in losses. The Attorney General said that the business “targets older adults across the U.S.”.
Michelle Corey of the Bureau said that BBB applauds the Missouri Attorney General’s action and said she hopes it will be a first step in helping consumers get back the money they lost. |
