Accident on I-49 injures two from Lamar
An accident on I-49 about four miles south of Lamar around 11:30 Saturday night resulted in injuries to two people.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the wreck happened when a southbound Ford F-250 driven by 18-year-old Moses R. Olivas of Lamar went off the left side of the road and overturned, crossing the median and coming to rest in the northbound lanes of the Interstate.
Olivas had minor injuries. He was wearing a safety restraint. A passenger, 37-year old Leah M. Corchado of Lamar, who was not wearing a restraint, suffered serious injuries.
Both were transported to a Joplin Hospital for treatment.
