Boil advisory lifted by Missouri American
The precautionary boil water advisory issued late Wednesday for about 150 customers in south Joplin has been lifted.
A spokesperson for Missouri American Water says the order was lifted as of about 5 p.m. on Thursday.
Water tests have confirmed the water is safe for consumption.
The company had earlier noted this was not a boil order; only a boil advisory.
Orders can only be issued by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and occur when there is a confirmation of any contaminant. That was not the case in this instance.
The now-lifted order was strictly a precautionary measure and affected about 150 customers.
