Jasper County celebrates K9 Holi’s retirement, welcomes K9 Valor
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office would like to congratulate one of their retiring K9’s.
K9 “Holi” or lesser known as, Doc Holiday Von Raleigh Mali, has officially retired. Holi served the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office as well as local, state and federal agencies over the past 8 years. Holi is retiring due to her age.
Holi will be remaining with her handler, Deputy George Datum during her retirement.
Holi started her career in 2015 and since then she has been deployed 665 times making 183 arrests and locating 241.52 pounds of illegal narcotics.
In addition, Holi has also located several suspects, lost subjects, apprehended criminals and conducted numerous public demonstrations.
A retirement ceremony will be held at the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, 231 S. Main, Carthage, Missouri, on July 6, at 10:30 AM.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has a new K9.
K9 “Valor” is to replace retired K9 “Holi”. Valor is a 15 month old German Shepherd from Poland. Valor was purchased through Patriot K9 training and went through a 6 weeks handlers course with his handler Deputy George Datum. Valor will be training a minimum of 16 hours per month until he retires. Valor recently certified through North America Police Working Dog Association in Narcotics/Patrol.
