Big BAM Ride to leave Joplin Monday morning
Big BAM Ride, a 6-day cycling event across Missouri, will follow historic Route 66 from Joplin to Eureka, Mo.
Cyclists will depart Joplin’s Landreth Park the morning of Monday, and ride across the state finishing on June 18th.
On Sunday, the public is invited out to Joplin’s Landreth Park to welcome the cyclist to Joplin. Registration for the cyclists will open in the park at 2:00 p.m. Food trucks will be featured.
Starting at 6:30 p.m., ceremonies to kick-off this year’s ride will take place from the Landreth Park amphitheater stage will begin.
That will be followed by a public concert by Joplin musicians Larry Smith and Karl Doner with guest Zane Grimes.
Participants of the BIG BAM Ride will camp overnight in Landreth Park Sunday, then depart Monday morning between 5:30 and 10:00 a.m.
