Missouri Department of Agriculture’s specialty crop grant
The Missouri department of Agriculture is accepting funding proposals through the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. It is open for individuals, organizations, and researchers to apply to. Those interested in applying for the grant have until July 13th, 2022 to submit an application.
The Missouri department of Agriculture will be awarding grants as large as $50,000 per specific project and will prioritize projects responding to impacts made by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes any project that helps to advance farmworker protection technology or supply chain disruptions.
According to the USDA specialty crops include dried fruit, nursery crops, honey, tree nuts, and horticulture crops. The department’s ultimate goal with this grant is to promote local, regional and international market expansion for Missouri specialty crops.
