Joplin woman killed in accident on 7th Street west of Joplin

A 71-year-old woman from Joplin was killed in a two-vehicle accident on 7th Street (Route 66) west of Joplin Wednesday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Cynthia L. Myers was traveling south on Central City Road and failed to yield at the 7th Street intersection and was hit by car traveling east.

The patrol report says Myers was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

This is Troop D’s 43rd fatality this year.
