Pittsburg Police arrest woman; charged with mistreatment of a dependent

PITTSBURG, Kan. – An investigation that began early this year has result in in two charges against a woman in Pittsburg.

On Feb.16, 2022, the Adult Protective Services division with the Kansas Department for Children and Families received information about the misuse of funds of a dependent adult who resides in Pittsburg.

On February 19, Pittsburg Police Department received the report and began an investigation into the allegations reported to DCF. The investigation eventually resulted in the positive identification of the suspect.

On Thursday, June 2, detectives from the Pittsburg Police Department arrested 43-year-old Hillary Rose Houston at her place of employment for one count of Mistreatment of a Dependent Adult and one count of Felony Theft.

Houston was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Crawford County Jail where she was booked in and later released on a $5,000 bond.
