While few details were made public, NewsTalk KZRG spoke with Webb City Police Chief Don Melton who says officers found the body of the juvenile in the 200 block of West Stadium Drive (reportedly near the baseball field), on Thursday May 5th.

Melton said while there appeared to be no initial signs of foul play, the body has been taken to Springfield for an autopsy.

He said it could take several weeks or more until the final report comes back.

Melton also tells us the investigation is active and ongoing and anyone with any information should contact the Webb City Police Department.

The Webb City PD can be contacted by telephone at 1-417-673-1911 or by email at info@webbcitypd.org.
