Local authorities seek Schweitzer’s return for trial
42-year-old Amanda Schweitzer, a former teacher at Joplin’s North Middle School, is serving a sentence of 20 years without parole for sexual enticement of a student in a Federal penitentiary in Alabama.
However, she still faces state charges of first-degree statutory rape in Jasper and Newton Counties.
Now, in an effort to get her returned to the area for trial, authorities in Jasper County have reportedly revoked the bond she posted on the state charges and have issued a warrant for her return to the area.
Schweitzer is charged with 1st degree statutory rape in Jasper County and with child kidnapping, 1st degree statutory rape and statutory sodomy of a child under 14 years of age in Newton County.
