Former Ottawa County assistant prosecutor charged in U.S. Federal Court

Multiple charges filed . . . .

In Tulsa today, former Ottawa County assistant prosecutor Daniel Thomas Giraldi was reportedly charged in U.S. Federal court with bribery of a public official, interstate travel in aid of racketeering, possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, and use of a communication facility in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Giraldi also is reportedly accused of receiving “sexual favors in exchange for special treatment of certain defendants and their cases,” according to a criminal complaint.

Giraldi worked for the Ottawa County District Attorney’s office from Feb. 2019 until just a few days ago as an assistant district attorney. Reports say he has since been terminated.

The Oklahoma Attorney General’s office will be superintending the State level investigation.

The Ottawa County Prosecutor’s office has indicated it will cooperate in the investigation.
