Ottawa County Commissioner announces plans to resign
Ottawa County Commissioner Steven Chasteen has said in a Facebook posting that “the rumors are true.”
Chasteen stated earlier this week that he has informed Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt and the Board of County Commissions that he plans to resign as a District 2 Commissioner.
He said the reasons are “solely focused on health, well-being and family.”
According to Oklahoma State Law, Gov. Kevin Stitt will call a special election within 30 days after the vacancy in the county commissioners’ office exists to fill the post.
Chasteen did not say when his resignation would become effective.
