Groundbreaking held on addition to Nursing building at Pitt State
Paid for by donor gifts . . .
Groundbreaking was held Thursday at Pittsburg State University for a major extension of the Irene Ransom School of Nursing.
Speakers included PSU president Dr. Steve Scott, PSU Foundation chair Lynda Banward, and College of Arts & Sciences Dean Dr. Mary Carol Pomatto.
The project will include the building of an approximately 10,000-square feet addition, plus targeted renovations to the existing building that will accommodate cohorts of 120 students; currently, there are 90.
Highlights will include associated control rooms, a debriefing room, a waiting area, a study area, storage, and restrooms. Combined, the project will involve approximately 24,000 square feet.
The almost $7 million project is being funded by private gifts initiated by donors after learning of the need to expand access to more students.
