KCU Medical School students to participate in mass casualty simulation
KCU-Joplin first- and second-year medical students will participate in a mass casualty incident exercise to learn and practice vital skills that will help prepare them for real-world, large-scale incidents.
The event will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 19.
During the exercise, students will navigate through a staged disaster to triage victims and implement life-saving treatment.
First-year students will play the role of disaster victims while second-year students will play the roles of EMTs triaging and physicians delivering care as KCU is transformed into a fictitious hospital.
