Joplin man accused of abducting two girls waives hearing
The internet opens the door to a lot of good things but the door swings both ways.
20-year-old Grant D. Henson of Joplin is accused of using Snapchat to abduct and assault two 13-year-old girls, one from southeast Missouri and one from Hickory County in central Missouri.
Prosecutors allege Henson drove a girl from southeast Missouri to Carl Junction in January. She spent part of the trip, which took at least five hours, in the trunk of his car. He allegedly held the girl in Carl Junction and sexually assaulted her, eventually letting her go.
Court documents say he also took another girl from her home in Hickory County and assaulted her.
Henson yesterday waived a preliminary hearing in Jasper County Circuit Court on nine counts including kidnapping, statutory sodomy, statutory rape, child molestation, and child abuse.
