“People’s Convoy” heads to nation’s capital

The People’s Convoy left southern California Wednesday morning heading for Washington, D.C.  The group of truckers and supporters are protesting COVID-19 mandates.

The convoy is expected to reach Vinita, Oklahoma on I-44 around 4 p.m. on Sunday where participants will pause before continuing on to the nation’s capital.

The organized event resembles the truckers’ protest that took place in Canada in recent weeks.

Prior to leaving California, speakers made repeated false claims that COVID vaccines have taken more lives than they have saved.

The convoy’s 11-day trek will make stops in Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and other states. Organizers expect more truckers and other supporters to join as they approach the D.C. Beltway area.
