Firefighters respond to RV fire on west Zora street Saturday
First responders were called to the location of a fire on Zora between Main Street and Schifferdecker Ave. just north of Joplin Saturday.
By shortly after 1 p.m., about all firefighters could do was spray down the charred remains of what had been an RV camper located only about 30 feet from an occupied home.
“There was an occupant and she was transported with life-threatening injuries,” says Capt. Caleb Stark of the Carl Junction Fire Department.
The woman was taken to a Springfield burn unit.
Capt. Stark says the cause of the fire is under investigation and is being turned over to the State Fire Marshall’s office.
Firefighters from Carl Junction, the Jasper County Sheriff’s office and METS responded.
This is a developing story.
