Pittsburg man arrested on child porn charges
A man from Pittsburg is accused of sexually exploiting a child and accused of trading child porn. Read the full press release from Pittsburg PD below:
On November 21, 2021, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force out of Wichita, Kansas, received information indicating that an unknown suspect had uploaded images depicting child pornography to the Internet. An investigation was initiated by the ICAC Task Force, and it was determined the images were being uploaded from an address in Pittsburg, Kansas.
On January 25, 2022, detectives from the Pittsburg Police Department took over the investigation from the ICAC and continued to follow up on the case, which resulted in the positive identification of the suspect being made.
On February 11, 2022, detectives from the Pittsburg Police Department arrested 41-year-old Rex W. A. Mills, of Pittsburg, at his residence on 19 counts of sexual exploitation of a child, specifically related to the possession of sexually explicit images of children under the age of eighteen, and 13 counts of internet trading in child pornography.
Mills was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was booked in and is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
