Carthage man being held for alleged rape of girl

About a year and a half ago the remains of a premature baby were discovered buried in a yard in Carthage.

Now, a man from that city is under arrest.

Authorities reportedly said 35-year-old Julio A. Puac-Garcia was taken into custody in December after a girl told a school counselor the premature infant she lost was the result of a rape by Garcia.

The girl reportedly said she was raped in April 2020 and lost the baby in August.

Puac-Garcia, who allegedly buried the remains in his back  yard, is reportedly being held without bond at the Jasper County Jail.

He has a hearing set for March 17th.
