57 dogs have been rescued from “horrific conditions” at an unidentified site in southwestern Missouri’s Newton County.
The Humane Society of Missouri conducted the large-scale operation Tuesday after being contacted by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.
In a written statement, State Humane Society president Kathy Warnick says their Animal Cruelty Task Force is always ready to respond to dire situations.
According to the statement, there were numerous carcasses of dead animals on the property.
