Vehicle chase, shots fired in Miami Saturday

Authorities in Ottawa County responded to reports of a vehicle chase and shots being fired on Saturday.

The vehicles traveled east on Steve Owens Blvd. past the turnpike, then north to 90 Road and back west into Miami. At one point in the northeast part of town on Rockdale Blvd., an occupant of the suspect vehicle exited his vehicle and ran across the street shooting at the victim’s vehicle.

Officers located the suspect vehicle and made a felony traffic stop on the vehicle on Lincoln Blvd. in the northeast part of Miami.

Officers made contact with 29-year-old Rusty Reece and 44-year-old Chris Seaborn, both of Miami, in the suspect vehicle.

After an initial investigation Reece was arrested and transported to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s office (OSCO).

Due to multiple jurisdictions being involved OCSO will continue the investigation.

Officers from the OCSO, Miami PD, and NEO campus police all responded to the situation.
