Moss to retire as Joplin Schools Superintendent in September

Dr. Melinda Moss has announced her retirement from her position as Joplin Schools Superintendent, effective September 30.

Current Assistant Superintendent of Operations, Dr. Kerry Sachetta, will move into the position, thereafter.

Dr. Moss was named superintendent in November of 2016, starting her tenure in July of 2017.

She made the announcement at a board meeting Tuesday night. “It has been my supreme honor to serve as your superintendent. The move to Joplin has been a wonderful opportunity both professionally and personally. My husband and I would like to thank the community for opening its arms to us and quickly assimilating us as your own.”

Moss says starting June 30th, the board will retain her service for a transitionary period to help Sachetta adjust to the position of superintendent.
