Pittsburg man arrested for assault, robbery

A man from Pittsburg, with a lengthy criminal record, has been arrested for alleged assault and for an alleged robbery. Read the full update from police below:

On Wednesday afternoon, January 19, 2022, at approximately 3:40 PM, law enforcement officers with the Pittsburg Police Department located the suspect vehicle from this incident at a residence in the 900 block of S. Walnut St., in Pittsburg.

Officers then located and made contact with one of the two suspects, 33-year-old Jerimiah L. Wools, of Pittsburg.

Wools was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the jail at the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for booking. Wools was arrested for felony aggravated battery, felony aggravated robbery, felony aggravated burglary, misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor criminal carrying of a weapon. Wools is being held in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

The second suspect’s identity remains unknown at this time.

On January 18, 2022 at 4:37 p.m., officers from the Pittsburg Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of East 16th St. in Pittsburg, for the report of a man who had just been shot.

The caller advised her brother had just been shot by two white males, and the suspect vehicle, described as a white Ford 150, had fled the area.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the 31-year-old male victim, who had facial and chest injuries. Police immediately determined the victim had not been shot, and that no shots were fired during this incident.

The victim reported being in the shed behind the residence when two white males came inside and proceeded to physically assault him. He reported the suspects stole his cell phone and cash before fleeing the area. Witnesses on scene were able to provide officers with a description of the suspect vehicle, as well as, a description of the suspects.
