Kansas Hemp Advisory Board to meet
MANHATTAN, Kansas – Times are tough for the industrial hemp industry in Kansas
Kansans have been able to legally grow hemp for the last three years. But the plant has proven riskier and more difficult than many farmers initially expected.
As a result the number of licenses issued this year is less than half of what the state saw in 2020.
The Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Industrial Hemp Advisory Board will meet at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, via teleconference.
The meeting is open to the public. Individuals who want to call in to the meeting should contact Braden Hoch, industrial hemp supervisor of the plant protection and weed control program, at Braden.Hoch@ks.gov.
Persons who require special accommodations must make their needs known at least two days prior to the meeting.
