Missouri’s 2nd elk hunting season is a success.
The Conservation Department’s elk hunting season is in the books.
The archery portion of the elk season October 16th through the 24th yielded 2 bull elk this year.
The firearms portion of the season December 11 – 19th yielded 3 bull elk.
Five Missouri hunters were selected for elk permits through a random drawing.
Last year’s inaugural elk hunt ended with all five hunters harvesting bull elk during the firearms portion.
No elk were taken during the 2020 archery portion.
Conservation officials say Missouri’s elk herd is healthy and growing.
