Reams chosen as new president of Carthage Chamber of Commerce
The Carthage Chamber of Commerce has named Julie Reams as its new president.
Reams comes to Carthage from the Pittsburg Chamber where she served as membership and special events director.
She has also worked for Chambers in Girard, Andover, and Wichita in Kansas.
Reams succeeds Mark Elliff who is retiring after many years in the position.
The 430-member Carthage Chamber of Commerce manages a wide variety of activities including the Maple Leaf Festival, Business Expo, and Annual Civic Banquet.
It supports member businesses large and small through networking events, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and many other events and activities.
Other Chamber functions include legislative issues pertaining to the Carthage community, candidate forums for city, county, and Carthage R-9 candidates, and working to improve housing, expand business and recruit new businesses.
The Carthage Chamber also serves as one of the hosts for the Carthage Christmas Parade.
