Long-time KDOT employee to retire after 42 years with the group
Bill Haverkamp began at KDOT in 1977
A long-time figure in the Kansas Department of Transportation will retire after 42 years of service to the state.
Bill Haverkamp is the Chief of the Bureau of Right of Way for KDOT.
Haverkamp began at KDOT in 1977 as a Surveyor in the Bureau of Design.
Most of Haverkamp’s time with KDOT was spent in Surveys Section for 27 years as the Survey Coordinator.
He retired from that position a few years ago in March 2017, but he made his return to KDOT to serve as Bureau Chief of Right of Way in June 2019, according to a release from KDOT.
Haverkamp will still serve as a Professional Survey member of the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions.
