PSU’s College of Business “Enactus” program celebrates fundraising accomplishments for kids
$1,500 was raised by students to purchase bikes for elementary students
Through the efforts of the Kelce College of Business at Pittsburg State University “Enactus” program, area children will wake up to new bikes on Christmas, according to a news release from the University.
The Enactus program is a student entrepreneur organization.
Enactus members originally partnered with Pittsburg Area Young Professionals and used various business principles, pitch skills, and other general efforts to collect donations for a bike drive that benefits elementary students.
$1,500 was raised, which almost matched Pittsburgh Area Young Professionals fundraising efforts of $2,000.
Enactus advisor Chesley Decker says the bikes will be distributed to families who signed up through the Salvation Army’s Christmas Distribution program.
The bikes will be delivered by PAYP and Enactus students on December 18.
Every year, the goal of PAYP is to raise enough money to purchase 100 bikes.
