Guilty verdict in McDonald County sexual abuse trial

The verdict is guilty in McDonald County against 39 year old Bryan Hansen.

Jurors deliberated for 11 hours Wednesday before finding the rural Jopliln man guilty on two counts of 1^st degree of first degree statutory sodomy and two counts of first-degree child molestation.

The jury was unable to reach a decision about a fifth charge of second degree rape. The trial was held in McDonald County on a change of venue from Newton County.

The victim, who is now 20, testified that Hansen abused her for up to three years before she had a miscarriage in 2015. Hansen denied it all.

His sentencing is set for January 31^st.
