Preliminary numbers from the Conservation Department for the opening of firearms deer season

It was a good weekend in the woods for the start of Missouri’s firearms deer season.

That season runs until next Tuesday, November 23rd.

Preliminary harvest numbers from the Conservation Department include more than 54,000 bucks, more than 7000 button bucks and just over 28,000 does.

The “quick harvest summary” at mdc.mo.gov shows Franklin County in the lead as of Monday morning with almost 1900 total deer killed.
