OSBI investigating after Miami woman found dead in Ottawa County
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) is investigating after a woman from Miami, Oklahoma was found dead three miles north of Commerce.
On November 1, 2021, the Quapaw Nation Marshal’s Office requested assistance with a homicide. The victim was identified as 47-year-old Toni Elizabeth Moran. The Oklahoma Office of Chief Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. If you have any information that can help with the investigation, please contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or tips@osbi.ok.gov.
Back in 2003, court documents say that Moran was arrested after she was found to have pushed her 17-month-old baby into deep water in Spring River north of Twin Bridges State Park.
When she was taken into custody she told authorities that “God told me to do it”.
In 2004, she was ruled ‘insane’ on the first degree murder charge.
