Oronogo proposal passes Tuesday night to sell city’s natural gas service
The service will be sold to Spire for $620,000
In a narrow finish Tuesday night, Oronogo residents voted “yes” to a proposal that would sell the city’s natural gas distribution service to Spire for $620,000.
Spire is a private gas utility that serves a large portion of western Missouri.
The final count for the vote was 55 “yes” to 32 “no” on the proposal.
The system is made up of around 8.1 miles of gas mains that cover about 268 homes on the system.
