Man from Carl Junction killed by police last weekend was wanted on robbery charges

Joseph Endicott had robbery charges connected to an incident back in August

Following the shooting of a man from Carl Junction this weekend by a Joplin Police Officer, court documents have revealed that the individual was attempting to avoid being arrested on robbery charges, which he had been doing for about eight weeks.

A warrant that was issued September 7 for the arrest of 44-year-old Joseph Endicott charged him with two counts of first-degree robbery and one misdemeanor count of vehicle tampering in connection with an incident that occurred in August.

Court records indicate that Endicott and an alleged accomplice robbed two Webb City residents via gunpoint on Aug 3 at the resident’s home, taking the victim’s wallet, car keys and jewelry, and $1,600 cash.

An affidavit states that the two suspects then stole several items from the victim’s vehicle, including $560 cash, credit cards and jewelry, as well as an iPhone.

They then drove off with the victim’s car.

We’ll continue to report on this story as more updates become available.
