Main Street to close Thursday morning in downtown Joplin

Main Street in downtown Joplin will be closed from 7 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, Nov. 4 to through traffic.

The closure will allow for the City to bring in a crane for maintenance workers to access the roof and flagpoles on top of City Hall.

City maintenance workers will untangle the American flag from its flagpole, and also re-string the pole for the Missouri State flag to be flown again on this building.

Drivers should use streets east or west of Main Street during this brief closure and remain cautious as they near the detours.
