Kansas Governor announces funding grant to promote mental health
Kansas recently received $500,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture
Today, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly announced that the state had received a $500,000 grant from the USDA to spread awareness for KansasAgStress.org.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture hopes to help de-stigmatize mental health in the Kansas agriculture community.
A news release for Governor Laura Kelly’s office says, “The Kansas Department of Agriculture will use funding to create a statewide campaign to raise awareness for the KansasAgStress.org website, develop reusable media content, and work to destigmatize the concept of mental health awareness while lowering suicide rates in the agriculture industry in Kansas.”
The USDA National Institue of Food and Agriculture announced an investment of almost $25 million through 50 grants to support the Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network (FRSAN) State Department of Agriculture (SDA) projects.
