Car and purse of missing woman located; body found

On Sunday afternoon, a detective with the Springdale Police Department received a call that the purse and contents of 82-year-old Ava Moore, a missing woman from Springdale, Ark, had been located in rural Kansas Oklahoma by a citizen.

Her vehicle was located a short distance away unoccupied.

On Monday, while searching the area around Moore’s car, detectives with the Springdale Police Department as well as agents with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and Deputies with the Delaware County Sheriff’s office in Oklahoma located a deceased female a short distance from Moore’s vehicle.

The OSBI will be taking over the investigation and the body of the deceased female will be sent to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office for positive identification and manner and cause of death.
