Road closure to begin Tuesday morning near Carl Junction

A road closure begins in the Carl Junction area on Tuesday.

It will be at Sunset Drive at Missouri Route 171.

The closure is slated for 8 a.m. on Tuesday through 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

Contractor crews will be installing a new drainage pipe under Sunset Drive.

There will be no detours but driver are urged to find alternate routes.

The work is part of a project to resurface 26 miles of Route 171 between the Missouri/Kansas state line and I-49 AND to relocate the Route 171-Highway 96/YY intersection north of Carl Junction.
