Why are employers having a harder time getting job applicants?

Why are employers having a harder time getting people to apply for jobs?   

According to Pam Regan with the Joplin Job Center.  “A lot of parents are staying home with their kids instead of sending them back to school. Home schooling is taking an effect on the job market.  There is also a shortage of daycare facilities that are paid by the state.”

16 employers will be interviewing prospective employees during a job fair event Wednesday, October 20th, at the job center at 8th and Wall Streets in Joplin starting at 10:00 AM.
