Man from Parsons, KS arrested after sniff test leads to drugs discovery

The incident happened on Friday

One man was arrested following a traffic stop that took place on Friday in Parson, KS.

The event occurred when a white Nissan Armada was stopped for defective equipment.

The driver of the vehicle was 30-year-old Parsons resident Danny Joe Cash Jr., “who was found to have a pending Municipal Complaint about an unrelated criminal matter,” according to a news release from the Parsons Police Department.

As the stop continued, a K9 unit was deployed on the vehicle.

Officers involved at the scene located illegal narcotics packaged for individual sale following the sniff test, as well as a digital scale, syringes, a semi-automatic Taurus handgun, and cash as well.

Those narcotics were positively identified as methamphetamine.

Cash faces changes with the Labette County Attorney for Sale and Distribution of Certain Stimulants, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Stolen Property, Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Defective Tail Lamps and No Liability Insurance.
